     The strength, toughness and hardenability of 45Mn medium carbon quenched and tempered steel plate are higher than that of No. 45 steel. After quenching and tempering treatment, better comprehensive mechanical properties can be obtained. The cutting performance is still good, but the welding performance is poor, and the cold deformation plasticity is low. Tempering brittleness tendency, generally used in quenched and tempered state, can also be used in quenched, tempered or normalized state. This is a new type of steel that has successfully replaced 40Cr steel. It has higher strength, hardness, wear resistance and good toughness. Its hardenability is slightly higher than that of 40Cr, and its critical hardening diameter in oil is up to 18~ 33mm; good machinability after normalizing, cold drawing, thread rolling, tapping, forging, and heat treatment process performance are also good, the grain growth, oxidation, decarburization tendency and quenching deformation tendency are small at high temperature; but Temper brittleness, tempering stability is slightly worse than 40Cr steel. This steel is generally used in the quenched and tempered state, and the temperature range is -20~425℃. It mainly replaces 40Cr steel to make medium and small cross-section quenched and tempered parts, such as automobile half shafts, steering shafts, worms, spline shafts and machine tool spindles. , Gears, etc. In addition, it can also replace 40Cr steel to make parts with larger cross-sections such as Φ250~320mm hoist intermediate shaft. This steel can also be used instead of 40CrNi steel when making smaller parts.
